Selecting the right mentor for every mentee

Pathbuilders’ approach to mentor matching is different than any other. Our Matchmakers are experienced, well-trained senior executives who conduct an in-depth interview with each program participant to reveal specific development needs and desired areas of focus. The data are used to identify precisely the right mentor and peer group for each woman. The resulting mentor-mentee and peer relationships are the foundation for our programs and create connections that often last throughout the mentees’ careers.

The Pathbuilders community of mentors includes more than 1,800 extraordinary individuals who have volunteered through the years. Many have served as mentors more than ten years. Ask why they continue to mentor year after year, and most will tell you they gain as much from the experience as their mentees. Engaging with women in other companies, and in some cases, other industries, at various career stages reveals insights they can use to support their own female talent and become better leaders themselves.        

The one-to-one pairing with a mentor is extremely valuable. You get undivided attention for a full year from someone who can really help you grow and overcome challenges.
